  1. The Collectables compilation Fever and Other Hits is comprised of ten tracks of prime Peggy Lee, nearly all of them weighted toward the type of direct, outré floorshow material that neophytes know her best for: "Fever," "Big Spender," "The Alley Cat Song," and "I'm a Woman."The brief running time and lack of subtlety mark this one as less than priceless.6/
  2. This review is for 'Peggy Lee: Fever & Other Hits'. I just purchased this and 2 other cds by Peggy Lee. This cd has the fewest songs. The 10 songs are all winners. I bought it for the 3 songs that weren't on either of the other 2 cds that I purchased. The 3 songs were 'You Gotta Have Heart', 'My Man' and 'The Alley Cat Song'/5(5).

  6. "Fever" is a song written by Eddie Cooley and Otis Blackwell, who used the pseudonym John Davenport. It was originally recorded by American R&B singer Little Willie John for his debut album, Fever (), and released as a single in April of the same year. The song managed to top the Billboard R&B Best Sellers in the US and peak at number 24 on the Billboard pop chart.
  7. ‘Hallelujah, I Love Him So’ () As ‘Fever’ and ‘I’m A Woman’ illustrated, Lee had a penchant for taking R&B songs and remaking them in her own image.
  8. May 27,  · Excerpts from reviews. In , when Lee's "Fever" hit the Billboard charts, Capitol did not rush to the stores with a Fever album -- that idea only became standard in the record business a few years later. Instead, the label used "Fever" as the lead-off track on a budget LP called All Aglow Again, which turned out to be a tidy collection of her hits for the label.
